Our History
- Spring 1908 – Born out of a revival in the Second Reformed Church, a group of Sunday School workers organized a Mission on the north side of Kalamazoo.
- This mission, named North Reformed Church Mission, was primarily an outreach to the English speaking community and was located on the corner of Park and Patterson streets.
- March 1909 – After a period of rapid growth, it was decided to organize the mission into a church.
- March 18, 1909 – Historic date of organization and was officially named the North Park Street Reformed Church.
- 1929 – Six families transferred to help begin Trinity Reformed Church on the south side of Kalamazoo.
- 1945 – Eleven families transferred to help begin Hope Reformed Church on the west side of Kalamazoo.
- 1955 – Thirty members transferred to help begin Haven Reformed Church in Parchment.
- March 18, 1958 – The State Senate passed the bill to sell a portion of the Michigan State Hospital property located on the corner of Barney Rd. and Douglas Ave. to the church
- June 20, 1964 – Ground was broken for the building of the new church facility.
- November, 1964 – The congregation voted to rename the church North Park Reformed Church.
- June 3, 1965 – Ministry begins in the new location of 1316 Barney Road.
- March 22, 2009 – The 100th Anniversary Praise Project begins in conjunction with Bronson Methodist Hospital, to continue the mission to reach out in the name of Jesus to our community.
